Olanda: Respinta un’altra proposta di divieto degli animali nei circhi

Il 27 marzo 2012 il consiglio cittadino di Capelle aan den IJssel (vicino a Rotterdam) ha respinto il divieto posto ai circhi con animali. La proposta di Joost Eerdmans reponsabile della regolamentazione in material di benessere animale, di bandire circhi con elefanti, leoni, tigri ed animali esotici é stata respinta a maggioranza (21 voti contro 11).

Altre città olandesi quali Amsterdam, Zeist, Alphen aan den Rijn, Veendam e Winschoten hanno già respinto analoghe mozioni. A livello nazionale, è allo studio del governo il mantenimento degli animali nei circhi olandesi.

Local Ban Invalidated

On 27 March 2012, the City Council of Capelle aan den IJssel (near Rotterdam) rejected a ban on animals in the circus. The proposal of alderman Joost Eerdmans, in charge of local animal welfare regulation, to ban circuses with elephants, lions, tigers and other exotic animals, was dismissed by a vote of 21 against 11 votes.

Members of the City Council were informed in advance of the facts of performing animals in the circus y the “Commissie Klassiek Circus”, which provided in depth documentation on the subject of circus animals. Mr. Adri Lammers, Chairman of the “Vereniging Nederlandse Circus Ondernemingen” (Dutch Circus Proprietors’ Association) addressed the Council prior to the vote.

This extends the list of invalidated or abandoned proposed local bans which already were rejected by Amsterdam, Zeist, Alphen aan den Rijn, Veendam and Winschoten. At the national legislation level, legislation is under development to govern the keeping of animals in circuses in The Netherlands.

Lokales Verbot für ungültig erklärt

Am 27. März 2012 hat der Stadtrat von Capelle aan den Ijssel (bei Rotterdam) ein Verbot von Circustieren abgelehnt. Der Antrag des für lokale Tierschutzfragen zuständigen Ratsherrn Joost Eerdmans, Circusse mit Elefanten, Löwen, Tigern und anderen exotischen Tieren zu verbieten, wurde mit einer Mehrheit von 21 zu 11 Stimmen zurückgewiesen.

Die „Commissie Klassiek Circus” hatte mit ihrer tiefschürfenden Dokumentation zum Thema Circustiere die Mitglieder des Stadtrats im Vorfeld über dressierte Tiere informiert. Herr Adri Lammers, Vorsitzender der „Vereniging Nederlandse Circus Ondernemingen“, der Vereinigung niederländischer Circusunternehmen, wandte sich vor der Abstimmung an den Stadtrat.

Dieser Beschluss erweitert die Liste von für ungültig erklärten bzw. abgelehnten lokalen Verbotsanträgen, die bereits von Amsterdam, Zeist, Alphen aan den Rijn, Veendam und Winschoten zurückgewiesen wurden. Auf nationaler Ebene wird zur Zeit ein Gesetz entwickelt, das die Haltung von Circustieren in den Niederlanden regeln soll.
